Moncton Gets Set to Welcome Atlantic Slam

Atlantic Slam
November 15-17, 2024
Avenir Centre, MONCTON

May 15, 2024

The City of Moncton, in partnership with On Ice Entertainment Inc. and Events Moncton, will be hosting the second Atlantic Slam, an NCAA Division 1 College Basketball tournament, from Nov. 15-17 at the Avenir Centre.

Canadian broadcaster Rod Black was in Moncton today to talk about this year’s edition of the tournament. The Big South Conference has confirmed that all tournament games will once again be broadcast live on ESPN+ and will feature Black as the play-by-play announcer.

“Last year’s inaugural tournament was a great success,” says Moncton Mayor Dawn Arnold. “For the NCAA to want to come back for a second year is a testament to the positive partnership we have forged with Atlantic Slam, the Big South Conference, and the league itself. It also shows the engagement and commitment of our local volunteers who help make every event a success. With the rise in popularity of the college game, especially over the past year, we expect the region to again welcome this chance to take in top quality competitive basketball at the Avenir Centre.”
