Vacation Ideas for a Lazy Day

Vacation Ideas for a Lazy Day

You’re enjoying a nice getaway in Moncton, and you feel like taking it slow today? Here’s a suggested itinerary for a lazy vacation day.

Start off the morning slow:

Have coffee and breakfast at Tony’s Bistro and Pâtisserie.

Go for a nice leisurely bike ride in Riverfront Park and stop by Bore Park to watch the Tidal Bore rolling up the Petitcodiac River. Free interpretations of the river and tidal bore are offered at Bore Park by Resurgo Place staff throughout the summer.

In the afternoon:

Grab lunch at Euston Park Social or bring your own picnic to eat on the Riverfront while admiring the Petitcodiac River.

After a good meal, stretch your legs and enjoy Moncton’s self-guided, outdoor Culture and Heritage Scavenger Hunt at your own pace. The whole family will learn cool tidbits of information, all while having fun during this activity featuring some of Moncton’s public art and historical buildings.

For an afternoon treat, stop in at Halo Donuts for homemade donuts, or Lost and Found Ice Cream next door for ice cream made with locally sourced ingredients.

Into the evening:

Prolong your stay downtown and have some of Gusto’s famous pizza or pasta for supper.

Then, take a leisurely stroll downtown while following the self-guided Art Murals Tour and appreciate the artworks that have turned Moncton into a spectacular outdoor art gallery. Make sure you go before sundown so you can see all the beautiful art!

Or, for a perfect family night, end a wonderful day with a great movie at Cineplex Cinemas Trinity Drive or movie night in your hotel room, while snacking on popcorn in your PJs.
