City of Moncton and City of Charlottetown to Host Soccer Matches Between Sunderland AFC U23 and CF Montréal U23
MONCTON, NB — The City of Moncton and City of Charlottetown are thrilled to announce that they will each be hosting a professional soccer match between Sunderland Football Club U23 and the U23 CF Montréal. The match in Moncton will be held at the Croix Bleue Medavie Stadium on the grounds of the Université de Moncton on August 5, 2022 and the match in Charlottetown will be held on August 7, 2022 at the University of Prince Edward Island Artificial Turf Facility.
Sunderland AFC is an English professional football (soccer) club, playing in the Championship, the second tier of English football, which is the second highest level of soccer in England, aside from the Premier League. Their U23 Team competes in the EPL U23 League. They will compete against CF Montreal U23, a Major League Soccer team based in Montréal, Quebec.
“Moncton is thrilled to be one of three Canadian cities that will be welcoming the Sunderland AFC U23 players” said Moncton Mayor Dawn Arnold. “While this will be a highly sought-after event for residents in Moncton and beyond, it is a testament to our world-class facilities that offer sports and entertainment of all types”.

In addition to the match on August 5 in Moncton and August 7 in Charlottetown, Sunderland AFC will also be hosting coaching clinics and a match against a New Brunswick all-star team on July 30, 2022 in Moncton.

Tickets for the matches in Moncton will be on sale through Ticketmaster as of noon on June 2, 2022. Ticket prices for Sunderland AFC U23 versus CF Montreal U23 range from $20 to $58 and tickets for the New Brunswick All-Star Team versus Sunderland AFC U23 range from $20 to $29. There will be package deals for those who are interested in attending both matches.
